Election Integrity

A healthy republic depends on trust, and that trust begins with confidence in our elections. Dr. Stewart Tankersley believes every legal vote should be counted, every eligible voter should be able to participate, and every Alabamian should have confidence in the outcome.
Alabama has already taken important steps to strengthen election security, including voter identification requirements and safeguards designed to prevent fraud and protect the integrity of the process. These measures have helped ensure that elections remain fair, orderly, and transparent. Dr. Tankersley believes we should continue building on that foundation in a responsible and thoughtful way.

As Lieutenant Governor and presiding officer of the Alabama Senate, he will work with lawmakers to maintain strong election safeguards while ensuring the process remains accessible for eligible voters. That means supporting clear procedures, improving transparency where needed, and making sure election officials have the tools and training required to carry out their responsibilities effectively.

Dr. Tankersley also believes the Legislature should regularly review election laws to keep pace with changes in technology and administration, always with the goal of strengthening public confidence and ensuring consistency across the state.

Confidence in elections is fundamental to confidence in government. Dr. Tankersley is committed to protecting that trust by supporting a system that is secure, transparent, and worthy of the people it serves.
